"The first official word from police was that they didn't know how many victims or suspects were involved. But a short time later, after an extensive search of the temple, authorities said they did not believe there was more than one shooter."

At a news conference late Sunday afternoon, Edwards released no information about the suspect, including his identity or a possible motive. But beginning at 5:25pm ET, the FBI, the ATF, the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department and Cudahy police began searching a house in Cudahy, Wis., believed to be linked to the suspect, WITI's Brandon Cruz reports. Prior to starting the search at the 3700 block of HOLMES AVE., police asked two blocks of residents to leave the area or remain indoors.

At least seven people have been killed and twenty injured as a gunman took over a Sikh temple in Oak Creek, Wisconsin. The number includes the gunman, who was killed by police. Officials are treating it as a "domestic terrorist-type incident." Four of those shot died inside the temple, while the three others (two victims and a gunman) were killed outside the building. Police say they do not believe there is a second gunman at the temple, despite previous reports speculating about possible additional assailants. Greenfield Police Chief Bradley Wentlandt explained that reports of multiple gunmen may be based on several police radio calls about a gunman. Officers managed to enter the temple, and questioned people who had gathered on its basement floor. Tactical units then seached the temple, concluding that there was no second shooter.

Police in Wisconsin say seven people are dead at a Sikh temple near Milwaukee, including the suspected gunman. Local police have branded the incident an act of "domestic terrorism." Greenfield Police Chief Bradley Wentlandt says tactical officers have been through the temple where shots were fired about 10:30 a.m. Sunday. He says they found four people inside the building and three people outside. He says one of those killed outside is the suspect. Oak Creek Police Chief John Edwards says the suspect "ambushed" one of the first officers to arrive at the scene as the officer tended to a shooting victim.

Mr. Edwards says the suspect shot the officer multiple times outside the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin on Sunday morning. A second officer then exchanged gunfire with the suspect and fatally shot him. Mr. Edwards says the officer who was ambushed is undergoing surgery at a nearby hospital and is expected to survive. Police DO NOT believe a second shooter was involved, contradicting earlier reports of multiple shooters.
