An agreement on "a comprehensive and sustainable ceasefire" in Donbass as of midnight on December 24 was agreed by the members of the Contact Group in Minsk. Even Ukrainian president Poroshenko "welcomed agreements on a ceasefire in Donbass", but by the latest defence reports promised truce has failed again because of Ukrainian hostilities.

"Despite the “ceasefire regime” coming into force, the Ukrainian gunmen violated the ceasefire regime 224 times over the past 24 hours. Besides, the enemy launched 76 mortar-shells of 82mm and 120mm caliber and 104 ammunitions with different types of grenade launchers on the Donetsk People's Republic’s territory. Moreover infantry fighting vehicles and small arms were used," said the Vice-Commander od the Donetsk People's Militia, Eduard Basurin on Sunday.

Situation has also been tense in the Lugansk People's Republic from Saturday to Sunday and ceasefire has been violated by Ukrainin forces.

"Over the past day the Ukrainian Armed Forces fired at the territory of the Republic 12 times, reported the LPR Defense Ministry. So, applying mortars of 120mm calibre and grenade launchers, Ukrainian punishers were shelling the vicinities of Kalinovka village. Sokolniki, Zhelobok and Prince Igor monument’s areas underwent Kiev shellings as well", said the spokesman of the Lugansk People's Militia, Andrei Marochko on Sunday.

Failed special ceasefire is 9th after Minsk Agreement was signed between Ukraine and Donbass people's republics in the beginning of the year 2015. Basically there has been not a single day of agreed truce in Donbass since signing the agreement.
