Syria's 'De-Escalation Areas' Explained

Syria's 'De-Escalation Areas' Explained - YouTube

Russia, Iran, and Turkey have signed a memorandum on the creation of four 'de-escalation areas' in Syria during another round of peace talks in Astana on May 4. According to the document, 'de-escalation areas' include the province of Idlib, in the area north of the city of Homs, in Eastern Ghouta near Damascus and in southern Syria.
Syriana Analysis addresses the recent agreement, arguing that the deal will help the Syrian Arab Army to reinforce its presence in Palmyra and move forward towards Der Ezzor, which could be the main base for fighting terrorism in Eastern Syria and foiling American-Israeli partition project.
